Meet The Team


Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (UNE), Master of Urban Development and Design (UNSW), Member Planning Institute of Australia

As director of Habitat, David brings his wide-ranging experience in town planning and urban design to clients in regional New South Wales and Victoria.

David combines an extensive knowledge of the planning and legislative framework with an appreciation of the drivers of development to achieve the best results. He understands the factors that influence decision-making in planning, and prides himself on being able to help clients work through the complexities and challenges of planning.

David leads Habitat projects across all sectors, including greenfield land development, residential, commercial, retail, aged care, agriculture and industry. He has also been responsible for planning existing and proposed regional centres, facilitating the preparation of strategic plans and amendments to several local environmental plans and planning schemes.

Matt is a versatile and experienced planner, having gained experience working in both local councils and consulting environments.

Building on this extensive experience within local government statutory and strategic planning, today Matt assists our local government clients with planning advice and the efficient production of strategy planning policy. He also brings his invaluable knowledge and expertise in statutory and strategic planning to guide complex projects of local and regional significance from inception all the way through to approval for private sector clients.

Matt has contributed to projects at various stages through the preparation of structure plans, master plans, planning policy, planning advisory, statements of environmental effects, rezoning applications, planning scheme amendments and environmental impact statements.
Senior Planner

Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (UNE)

Craig is a qualified Town Planner with over 20 years industry experience in both local government and private multi-disciplinary consulting across regional NSW and Victoria.

Craig has both statutory and strategic project experience including key urban development and strategic land use planning projects, master plans, development applications and planning permits applications. Craig has a passion for sustainable property development and visioning and has extensive experience in large-scale, multi-disciplinary greenfield and brownfield development projects.

Craig is a strong leader with great communication and project management skills and is a trusted and respected advisor in the planning and development industry.

Craig has lead multidisciplinary project teams to successfully deliver major development projects across regional NSW and Victoria and has extensive knowledge of how projects are developed from inception and feasibility stages through to delivery and the impact that urban development can have throughout the life of the project. Craig has an intricate technical knowledge in the NSW Planning system which allows him to collaborate with industry professionals to seamlessly manage projects from the initial vision to the on-ground delivery.
Town Planner

Bachelor of Town Planning (Macquarie University)

Matt is a qualified Town Planner who is originally from Wagga Wagga.

He has returned to regional NSW after completing his undergraduate degree at Macquarie University in Sydney and developing his planning knowledge while working for The Hills Shire and City of Ryde.

Matt brings great enthusiasm and experience to our team, gained from his work across a range of planning projects.
Town Planner

Bachelor of Environmental Science (UNE)

Tom joined the Habitat team after completing his Bachelor Environmental Management and Science, contributing valuable expertise in environmental assessments and an understanding of the environment’s relationship to planning today.

Tom has worked on projects that span the residential, commercial and aged care sectors, making important contributions to the preparation of environmental impact statements, statements of environmental effects, planning permit reports, modification applications, rezoning applications and planning advice.

In addition, Tom provides due diligence reports, environmental assessments and advice to Habitat’s government and private sector clients.
Town Planner & Urban Designer

Master of Urban Development and Design (UNSW)

Sam is a qualified town planner and urban designer who gained an undergraduate degree in Town Planning and a Master of Urban Development and Design.

Sam has experience in a range of planning and design projects in metro and regional areas. He also brings an interesting and unique perspective gained from study and planning in Nigeria.

He is passionate and enthusiastic about planning and we are thrilled that he is part of our team.
