The Greater Hume Strategic Land Use Plan developed for Greater Hume Shire Council provided an integrated framework for managing the future growth and development of the municipality over the next 25 years.

Being an amalgamated Shire, the Plan provided the direction which informed the preparation of a new Local Environmental Plan to guide decision making. The Plan also reviewed the policy which applied across the three former Shires and consolidated these into a new framework.

The Plan was informed by an extensive consultation program across the 12 towns including with the community, business and stakeholder input and testing. Detailed policy review, research and analysis provided the basis of the Strategy.
