The NSW Office of Water’s Pipe the Channels program involved upgrading the existing pipeline and channels infrastructure, which provide current stock and domestic water supply to private landholders, with improved and more efficient pipeline infrastructure. Habitat were engaged to prepare Review of Environmental Factors for 5 projects across Western New South Wales.

The project involved extensive site investigations over large study areas and diverse contexts. It was necessary for the team to carefully balance impacts on cultural heritage, flora and fauna and landscapes for the project. Throughout the planning phase for the replacement projects, the team providing advice on optimising the alignments to minimise impact and set out appropriate conditions and mitigation measures for construction.
